Birth/Death Certificates
We can issue certified birth certificates (Abstracts or Image Copies) to anyone born in the State of Ohio. We can issue certified death certificates only to people who died in the city limits of Marietta. Our birth and death records begin in 1908 to present. Certified copies are $25.00 each. Non-certified copies are no longer available.
Certified copies may be obtained by one of the following ways:

Come to our office between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, M-F.

Method #2: Download/Send Forms
Complete an application for either birth or death certificate. Make sure to include:
- Full name
(include maiden name if married) - Date of birth or death
- Parents’ names if known
- Check for $25.00 made payable to the “City of Marietta”
- Self addressed stamped envelope

Family History Research
Family history research is also available. Depending on the number of records you are requesting, it may be necessary to leave the list and you will be notified when the research is completed.
